Nintendo DS Lite & Bape

18 Mar

nitendo-ds-lite-bape-01.jpg

Ever since my PSP died (don’t ask!) I’ve been sorta deprived of a portable to beat the hell out of rush hour every day. Windbell was super sweet to loan me his DSLite and I’ve been whacking it as if there’s no tomorrow.. Anyhow, I chanced upon this LV look alike beaut with Bape Milo characters plastered on da console face. It’s gonna be released in Japan on 1st April. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying darn hard that it’s not an April Fool’s Day joke because I wanna da gold one! Oh God praise da babe…. I mean Bape!

Unpleasent Pre-Order Experience

I’ve got a request from fellow Zinc to share his recent bad pre-order experience here. Just a thought to customer service for the locals here. The below is exasperated by Zinc.

Erokawa Lingerie Cell Phone Strap

16 Mar

erokawa-lingerie-cell-phone-straps-01.jpg

I don’t really know where this is taking me. Ever since I started the string of Cell Phone Straps from Japan posts, I just kept seeing more weird stuff the Japs offer! This one’s an Erokawa. Or so says its marketing folks. You probably know Ero and Kawaii respectively but put together, it has became a jargon for both erotic and cute (though I feel that the keitai to which it’s dangled from, looks more sexy).

Street Fighter IV

Ok this has been sitting in my drafts for the longest time and the high quality video that Mervyn so kind heartedly, encoded has became sorta stale by the time I got to hitting the “Publish” button. Anyhow da new arcade game indeed brings back tonnes of memories. I remember spending after school hours at the arcade just busy whacking buttons and I was so head over heels in lurve with *my hubby Akuma and his super Blackout special. (Oooh I hope he’s back!).

Shift, Shifting, Shifted

26 Feb

shifted.jpg

Ano… I must apologise for the lack of posts . Ever since the FF13 post on Valentine’s Day, I’ve been missing in (online) action. Nope not cos I’ve mysteriously eloped with the international man of mystery or flew to Tokyo to look for Mervyn (who’s swarmed with school work by the way.. poor guy), but because I’ve been pack, packing, packed & finally moved. Now. . . . . . I have to unpack!

Finally got my internet connection up and I must say I miss my old home already! I’ve yet to set up my PS3, many anime to catch up with and my showcase with all my precious figs is only half way done! Boo Hoo! Promise more posts to come after I’m erm done with the un-pack. Shifting house’s a headache (that comes with a truck load of muscle ache) I swear!

The Many Faces of Final Fantasy XIII

14 Feb

Sitting under the umbrella ella ella ella (sorry I JUST had to do that in “tribute” to Rihanna) are the three titles – FFXIII, FF Versus XIII, and FF Agito XIII. The former two for the PS3 platform & the latter for mobile phones. So I reckon there’s no more budget left for the PSP *cry*

Itasha – Pink Mario Airwave

12 Feb

itasha-pink-mario-01.jpg

I received an email with this super pink & terribly cute Honda Airwave Itasha [痛車(い たしゃ)] attached. Kinda proud that there’s a significant increase in such interest in our small market now.

Cell Phone Strap: Golden Unchi – Golden Poo

11 Feb

cell-phone-strap-golden-poo-00.jpg

I’m really not too sure about this. Golden poo cell phone strap as a symbol of luck? According to Strappy World, the symbol of crap is very auspicious! I really give it to the Japanese to churn a mundane product into a money tree. In Japanese, your “output” or excrement is called “unko” and in the same pronunciation, it means lucky kid! Though I’m no Feng Shui 風水 expert I’ve read just about enough to understand the kinds of geomancy elements and symbols. But Poo? So far, I’ve really never heard of crap being a symbol of good luck. Well, at least not here~ So when I chanced upon this in my quest to blog about something I have zero affinity to . . . I almost fell off my chair.

Devil May Cry 4

09 Feb

For those who haven’t heard, Dante’s back to kick some ass and level up in the Public Relations department after a much disappointing anime (in my most humble opinion). Anyway the opening sequence’s quite an earful. I like its cinematic effects though I’m not exactly a big fan of opera :3

Cell phone straps: Hello Kitty

08 Feb

cell-phone-strap-hello-kitty-01.jpg

I’ve always thought that cell phone straps are quite pointless. Well, I still think so! Other than a money making ideology, what other logical and fundamental function do they really serve? I could really write a thesis on their functionality actually. But having said that, the rebellious side of me wanted to prove myself wrong. (Actually I’m just bored. . . to death) So here I am, trying to post about something cute. . .

Moe moe OS-tans

03 Feb

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vKzbNGfjkI]

Another reason why I simply lurve Japan! The cho kawaii 美媚 (prounce mei mei, which is a Chinese slang for moe imouto chans) greeting you from your desktop is really an OS-tan. Apparently, these originated from the Futaba Channel – one of Japan’s most popular internet forum that deals in otaku culture; and competitor to 2Channel.

Generation of Chaos IV – Clain Clain Figure

02 Feb

clain-clain-figure-02.jpg

Clain Clain, heroine of Idea Factory’s RPG game “Generation of Chaos IV,” was crafted into this magnificently detailed PVC display piece from Atelier-sai! In her full armor with her broadsword “Dragon Slayer” she measures about 20cm tall (in other words – 1/8 scale). A round display base is included for her to stab her dragon slayer into some piece of environment rock. Though I don’t particularly like how her hair turned out under the lights – too plasticly I simply lurveeee that adorable plaster on her cheek ~(^.*)~

Softbank 921SH – The faceoff of FullFace 2

31 Jan

softbank-921sh-00.jpg

Move over iPhone. Hello (not moto but) Softbank 921 SH.

I’ve always had an immense interest with Japanese phones. I was devastated (and I mean REALLY devastated) that my 2 year old imported 903SH got into a coma and finally died despite numerous attempts of resurrection by kind Mervyn last year. After that, nothing has satisfied my hunger for another comparable phone in the sucky local market.

S.O.Y. 2008 CosPlay Event

S.O.Y. Cosplay’08: “The Beginning” organised by Japanese Tsubasa Club in Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

This is me first time shooting a cosplay event. Heck its my first time shooting ANY event. I’ve got Windbell to thank for letting me in on the juicy bait.

Super Modified Zeta Gundam

20 Jan

modified-zeta-07.jpg

There’s no denying it. I simply love the mosquito-faced Zeta Gundam. After fixing up a couple of those Bandai produce, it got to me that the parts are really from the exact same mold so to speak. When the Zeta Unicorn came out I was already thinking twice about buying it. It wasn’t long before I craved for a more special looking one. Something more unique, something not mass produced, something that I can build if I’ve got more time… Something like one of these gorgeous bots.

Figurine Massacre

19 Jan

figurine-massacre-00.jpg

I’m the murderer! I’ve basically minced, blended, creamed, clobbered, and KO’ed my figz to Kingdom come!

Because I’m about to move, many of my friends have SUDDENLY bothered to clear a space in their cluttered homes and offered to house my figures for me so I’d have fewer boxes to take care of (how nice). . . . Well, bad news is. . .I’ve decided to kill them all! If I can’t have them, so can’t you! *evil laff*

And so my unofficial guide to ways of disposing my plastics started:

日本へようこそ! I’m in Japan!

17 Jan

Haven’t been posting much as I was busy with preparations for school in Japan, resignation, and moving over. Finally I’m here! I’ll be in Japan studying the language and assimilating their culture. Now that I’ve almost settled down, classes have started, I realized I may not even have much time to watch my animes! I’m going to be here for at least a year and hope that when I’ve gotten the hang of things I’d have time to do my otaku-ish stuff and update you guys on what’s new and cool in Japan. While I’ve been gone, Dice has been performing a terrific job of updating the site with contents and I hope she’ll continue to do so ;)

I’m staying in Tokyo and perhaps I’d be able to meet up with Danny sometime when he’s free to bring me around and do fun stuff together.

Gonna hit the books so as to be able to keep up with my class, signing out for now. Cheers!

Ignis figure

03 Jan

ignis-figure-21.jpg

Ignis, also known as Igunis, is a character from another nottie game called Jingai Makyo: Chaos Gate. She was supposed to be a Japanese elf with a common hatred for monsters (oooh what’s new?) Whatever and wherever she’s from, she has proved her figurine worth to have four manufactures produce their own version.
