Another airbrushed Gundam 00 that’s worth mentioning. Last year I received my baby and Zinc airbrushed it white for me. Totally loved that but the guy who did the above – I kudos to him. He ( I assumed its a He) created his own decals to scale using Illustrator, then painstakingly pritnted and attached them to his 1/44 masterpiece. Heck it comes with glow in the dark parts as well. Check out how he did it and what colours he used at his site. It’s in Japanese though.. but you can get it easily translated at one of those online translation sites. The author mentioned that its really worth all the hard work and effort – spoken by a true fan!
Living as a 貧乏binbou (sounds suspiciously like “bimbo”) means I have to understand what my wallet is going through and can’t splurge to feed my otaku fetish. . . And so I’ve missed the Cosplay summit in Nagoya, and the Wonder Festival here in Tokyo cos its not free admission. LOL.
I went to the Gundam EXPO yesterday though partly cos admission is free and its near where I’m staying. Trust me you’ll get kinda lazy wanting to go out in this dreaded weather even though its summer holidays now, but the force was calling me (and it was too great to overcome).
Anyway here are the drool bits from the event. I must admit I’m just a Gundam supporter ..not a die hard, hard core fan (yet) so I went there with only erm 40% knowledge of what’s going on.
So after they’ve tried sticking studs on fake nails, eyelashes & cool gadgets, you think they’ve got nothing else to plaster glitter on right? Wrong! These really macho machines are the latest victims! Now I know diamonds are a girl’s best friend. . . but this I think… is a little too bling and definitely on the wrong target -.-!
Bandai Hobby created this pretty cool siteto host this awesome Phase Impulse MG Edition video to entice purchases. They’ll show you loads of cool pix and make you drool but its only download-able FOC to buyers from May 24th – August 31 2008 in Japan. But some kind soul has decided to share the wonder and thus the saying. . .”Good Things MUST Share!”
A diorama is a model of a natural setting which shows a specific moment in time; usually an imaginative scene built using miniatures. This guy went one step further and composed some awesome Gundam Dioramas with digital art. I just find them super awesome!
The Jumbo Zeta was released this month. I haven’t seen it much in the stores yet but the Zeta 006 Gundam is my favourite Gundam. I’ve had 8 Zetas so far (including a customised air brushed Red Snake from Zinc as my hatch day pressie) I think I’m going get this jumbo one just to feed my Zzzz fetish! LOL !
There’s no denying it. I simply love the mosquito-faced Zeta Gundam. After fixing up a couple of those Bandai produce, it got to me that the parts are really from the exact same mold so to speak. When the Zeta Unicorn came out I was already thinking twice about buying it. It wasn’t long before I craved for a more special looking one. Something more unique, something not mass produced, something that I can build if I’ve got more time… Something like one of these gorgeous bots.
I’m the murderer! I’ve basically minced, blended, creamed, clobbered, and KO’ed my figz to Kingdom come!
Because I’m about to move, many of my friends have SUDDENLY bothered to clear a space in their cluttered homes and offered to house my figures for me so I’d have fewer boxes to take care of (how nice). . . . Well, bad news is. . .I’ve decided to kill them all! If I can’t have them, so can’t you! *evil laff*
