I first chanced upon the write up for this film while scouring for more juicy anime back in Q1 this year and it immediately struck me that it’s a must watch even though there’s only a miserable unattractive picture & the slightly dry synopsis below:

I’ve been feeling pretty bumped about life over the last few moons when I chanced upon this book. The loud graphic (of the author) & bold title immediately caught my eye. It was Shoko Tendo – a Yakuza‘s daughter’s autobiography.
I’m shifting out of my house by February next year and every thing’s a mess with cardboard boxes all over the place. I’ve actually kept all my photography stuff but when my friend handed me something similar to THIS cardboard box, I simply can’t help but whip out my camera and start shooting.

That’s the prototype version of Kureha from Shining Wind, by Kotobukiya. Scheduled to be released in April 2008, this figure sprouts a more energetic feel as Kotobukiya decided to make her dance cha-cha.

Sculpted by Shunji Hagii & produced by Max Factory, Kureha stands at a tall of 25 cm. Ok that’s including the length of her bow actually. Dressed in a rich yellow-orange outfit with wonderful highlights in her hair and shading in her sleeves, Kureha leaves more than a few heads turning for sure.
Now that’s what I call drinking out of your own cups. . . . . . oops I mean bowls.
Akizuki Nagi 秋月凪 from Peace @ Pieces was the chosen standard setter for my collection of figurine shots. Sculpted by Hiromitsu Morikawa and produced by Goodsmile company, this 1/8 figure is nicely painted and a joy to look at.
nekoguchi goes Halloweeny!
Halloween’s not big here in Singapore but it certainly is quite so in Japan! There, the festival has become popular with the increasing influence of western pop culture. While Japan faces its aging population problem, the younger generation’s acceptance to western pop culture is evidently apparent during such events like Halloween where chance is given to cosplayers to dress up in Gothic Lolita and all its gory. Ooops, I meant glory.
There’s been an ever growing popularity of video-sharing over the Internet , especially apparent when YouTube recently hosted YouTube Mix – a party just to thank users who generated the most viewed content for YouTube Japan.
But unfortunately for some, there has also been a slew of extremely compressed ones so much so that you only see blotches of blur and are barely able to make details out. Where’s the kick in that?

I was walking around Daikanyama when I saw this Akihabara Oden Curry selling in a vending machine, inside a lifestyle furnishing shop!! There was a small note (captured below) on the shelf giving a brief description of what it is. Thank god the note’s in English.
October’s no longer about Halloween in all its eerie squishy Black & Orange. Quite contrary, it’s been recoloured PINK!
Many sites, TV channels, magazines & even retail fronts have gone PINK (nekoguchi included) during the month of October to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month ultimately raising some money for research.
Grape Juice from Japan! These nicely packaged grape juice comes in GLASS bottles direct from one of the Hokkaido farms!!(Heck you can’t find any ugly packaging in Japan anyway) And you don’t find many glass bottles now a days cos everyone’s turning plastic!
