I chanced upon Kotobukiya’s release of Kureha, bought her on impulse and the rest was history. . . Well not exactly history. Started photographing and experimenting with feathers. Was trying to get that heavenly, slightly over exposed look but it was already dark and I had terrible lightning in da house. I sent a couple to Zinc and he gave them a complete cosmetic surgery. It turned out gorgeous! So have decided to begin and end them with, in this post together with a “new” gallery for easier viewing.
more after the jump
Kotobukiya’s Kureha is lovely though I still prefer the Max Factory’s version that I shot last year. This one has a punchy, lively feel to it. You can actually tell that she’s put on weight by her rounder face and the sheer size of her erm headlights. Not complaining though (^.^). Other than the fact that shes literally screwed to the bottom of her base and doesn’t have much gradient in her hair and sleeves, she’s really not much to squawk about. The paint job’s pretty decent too.
The envy of all women – it doesn’t really matter if this turned out blur cos they’re still big (´▽｀*)ｱﾊﾊ
Anyhow, it was a really PAINFUL but fun experience cos yours truly is sick and feels like all the cells in her body are suffocating and all her muscles are ready to collapse anytime soon. (That would also be my excuse for the lack of posts :3) And the feathers… they just can’t stop flying around and dropping all over the place!
I really had fun shooting her in bad light though..cos its so darn challenging LOL.! After the peektures turn out soft, I decided to turn them all to in sepia / +luminosity prints and upload them into the gallery.
And so the morale of the story goes. . .what you couldn’t do with da camera, you do with Photoshop! LOL
